A Wild Explorer is a child who grows confidence, builds friendships, and connects with nature.

Through hands-on adventure, creative play, and outdoor exploration, children learn bushcraft skills like safe knife use and fire-making, take on exciting projects, and enjoy games that build teamwork and resilience.

Grounded in the 8 Shields framework, each session supports social growth, emotional awareness, and a sense of belonging.

From forest wanderings to Cape to Cape adventures, kids gain skills, courage, and confidence that last beyond the program.

  • Learning to safely use knives, build shelters, make fire, and develop practical outdoor skills.

Session details made simple

Ages: 8–14 years

  • Seasonally-based: Drop-and-leave sessions each school term and school holidays

  • Weekly Sessions: 5 hours from morning to afternoon, led by an experienced nature-mentor

  • What to bring: Weather-appropriate clothing, water, lunch, and curiosity

  • Safety: All activities follow strict safety guidelines, including knife and fire use

  • Location: Forest Grove and Vasse (details below)

Join us at our well loved and established bush camp, complete with epic dams and diverse regenerated forest
